Twitter and Today

I recently joined Twitter.com. Twitter is a world unto itself. Language, traffic, characters uniquely evolve. Twitter is an interesting place to engage, to find out news before the rest of the world, to learn about what matters to people. If you engage in Twitter, you may become a trend setter, you can gain followers and brag about their numbers, you may gain a voice in which to influence the world. But, if you go silent, if you never log on again, your followers would soon go elsewhere, the tweeple will find others to listen to. In fact, if you are silent even a week or two, your influence will most likely decline and your place will be filled.

What is true in the Twitterverse is also true in the universe. We're only here for a short time. We may gain notice, influence, and pleasures of many kinds. But one day, we'll sign out of this universe and sign irrevocably into eternity. Though many will grieve your going and miss you, life will continue. It is today that counts. Today you make choices that will be treasure or regrets forever.

What are you doing today that will matter forever?
